This article will help you learn how to gain the ear of prospecting Hatch customers, stand out to them, and better answer their questions.

Prospects:

There are four steps to attracting prospects to Hatch and keeping them engaged.  Having a 30 second to 3 minute interaction is the most that you can expect. Most people will not stay longer than that at a busy event.

  • Here’s how Starbucks does it:
    • Step 1 - Anticipate Are they in a rush? Do they have kids with them? etc.
    • Step 2 - Connect - Make a moment of connection (even a genuine smile will do)
    • Step 3 - Personalize - Don’t have a pitch ready - personalize your approach, learn their name
    • Step 4 - Own - Ending the interaction in the booth with a follow up already in place

Standing Out:

To “say” this, How should you do this?

  • “I will take our work seriously.” How should you look? - professional
  • “I’m eager to help you.” Where should you place yourself? - on edge of booth
  • “You won’t be outnumbered.” Should you be alone or in a group? - alone
  • “It’s OK to approach me.” How should you stand? - comfortable, open posture
  • “I’m eager to talk with you.” What expression should you have? - smile
  • “I’m well rested and energized.” Should you be eating or drinking?
  • “You will have my full attention.” What else should you be holding?  Should you be holding a cell phone, papers or postcards?
  • “I want you to get to know me.” Have a name tag on.  Look approachable.
