Selecting Regions

You are scheduled based on the regions you selected in the application process. If you would like to add or remove a region, please refer to our region map and contact hr@hatchcanada.com with your addition or removal request.

Please note it will take up to 3 business days to have these regions re-assigned as it takes some to reassign your shifts to other coaches. 


Out-Of-Region Shifts

Out of Region shifts are shifts that are outside of your rostered regions. Out of region shifts are always communicated to you by a program coordinator, making sure you're comfortable and okay with going to that region for that shift. Please note that travel time is given for out of region shifts. All travel pay is scheduled. If you have gone to an out of region shift and your travel pay is not scheduled as a shift, please contact the assigned program coordinator to make the appropriate adjustments.


Travel Pay 

If you have been offered a shift with travel pay by your program coordinator, you are entitled to travel pay. All travel pay will be scheduled before or after your shift. Please manually log this time in When I Work with these instructions, and be sure to select Travel Time as the role. Please note travel pay is paid at the wage of $14/hr.


Any camp program shifts don't include travel pay.


If you need to pick up and return laptops, or a marketing kit at a Hatch center related to a shift in your region, you will be paid for one hour for travel pay. Please follow the procedure laid out in the laptop management policy.
If you're picking up or returning any kind of material and the 1 hour of travel pay is not scheduled, please contact your program coordinator.


Please note you should be entering in your hours the day of your shift and definitely prior to your pay period deadline on the 21st of each month.


Too far to travel?

When applying, you were asked to select what regions you were willing to travel to. You are considered available in the entirety of each region you provided to us, and are obligated to attend any shifts assigned to you. If you feel you have made an error and wish to remove a region, please contact hr@hatchcanada.com. It will take some time to reassign shifts to other coaches. You are obligated to complete assigned shifts during the process of changing your regional availability.


Please note that it is considered an incident if you do not show up to a shift you are scheduled for. Coordinators require 3 business days advanced notice in order to reschedule a different employee. If you will be unable to attend a shift for any reason, contact your program coordinator immediately (coordinators@hatchcanada.com).
